Graduation Checklist

Verify your Degree Requirements

For questions or concerns about your degree requirements or completing your degree, please contact an Academic Advisor (for undergraduates) or your Department (for graduates and post-bacc) as soon as possible.  Students may also  review their unofficial transcript  by visiting  saic.edu/students and click “Self Service” under “Quicklinks.”  Click “My Academics” then “View My Advisement Report, then select 'Unofficial Transcript – Deg Aud'"

Complete your Graduation Application

If you are scheduled to complete your degree requirements by Spring 2021, or are within 6 credits of completing your requirements, you received a graduation application sent to your SAIC email account on February 15th. On this application, please provide information of your name as you wish to have it appear on your diploma and in the commencement program no later than March 12th so that we have the most accurate information to use in the virtual ceremony. Also provide contact information post-graduation, so that your diploma can be mailed to the appropriate location in June. If you completed your degree in summer 2020, fall 2020, or winter 2021, you may have already submitted this application.

How to Submit your Image

On March 15, you will receive a link to the submission portal through our vendor, MarchingOrder. On this website, you will also be able to submit an audio recording of your name to assist the name readers in pronouncing your name correctly. All images must be submitted by April 27.

Commencement Regalia (optional)

You can order a cap and gown or other regalia through Herff Jones. These items will be delivered straight to your home. Regalia is not required, but if you wish to receive these items in time to submit your picture, please order no later than April 10. After this date, additional fees may apply. Herff Jones also provides customized graduation announcements, diploma frames, and other graduation items for those interested in purchasing them.

Clear All Financial Holds:

Outstanding holds and balances (e.g., tuition balance, library and media center fines) must be cleared before you receive your diploma. In addition, if you have borrowed a Federal Direct Stafford or Graduate PLUS loan, you must complete online exit counseling at StudentLoans.gov . If you have borrowed a Federal Perkins loan, you must also complete separate online exit counseling at mycampusloan.com. Check your financial status in SAIC Self-Service.
