Verify your Degree Requirements

For questions or concerns about your degree requirements or completing your degree, please contact an Academic Advisor (for undergraduates) or your Department (for graduates and post-bacc) as soon as possible.  Students may also  review their unofficial transcript  by visiting saic.edu/students and click “Self Service” under “Quicklinks.”  Click “My Academics” then “View My Advisement Report, then select 'Unofficial Transcript – Deg Aud'".

Complete your Graduation Application

If you are scheduled to comeplete your degree requirements by Spring 2022 or are within six credits of completing your requirements, you can find your application to graduate in SAIC Self-Service. To access it, please click here and then click "Academic Records" to find "Apply to Graduate". On this application, please provide your name as you wish to have it appear on your diploma and in the Commencement program. Also, provide post-graduation contact information so that your diploma can be mailed to the appropriate location. Please complete this application by March 15. Note: December graduates have already received the application via mail.

Pick Up Tickets

Only students who have completed their graduation application may pick up tickets. An ARTICard is required to pick up Commencement tickets. Graduates will recieve five guest tickets, plus their own individual ticket. No one will be allowed to enter the Wintrust Arena without a ticket. Tickets are available beginning on Tuesday, April 12 through Wednesday, May 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. You may pick up tickets from the LeRoy Neiman Center Desk, 37 South Wabash Avenue, second floor. Tickets will also be available at the LeRoy Neiman Center Desk from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 21 for those students who are traveling to Chicago for the ceremony. At the time gradutes pick up their tickets, they may be placed on a waiting list for additional guest tickets. Should additional tickets become available, graduates will be contacted on May 4 to pick them up.

Attire

SAIC does not require a cap and gown for the ceremony. This is a celebratory event where graduates are invited to dress as they feel appropriate.

Clear All Financial Holds

Outstanding holds and balances (e.g., tuition balance, library and media center fines) must be cleared before you receive your diploma. In addition, if you have borrowed a Federal Direct Stafford or Graduate PLUS loan, you must complete online exit counseling at StudentLoans.gov . If you have borrowed a Federal Perkins loan, you must also complete separate online exit counseling at mycampusloan.com. Check your financial status in SAIC Self-Service.
