613 Sharp, Flaxman Library Classroom
How do we create material objects that communicate our values? In this workshop, participants will explore the geometric designs of quilts as vehicles to communicate their stories. Utilizing the didactic materials from the Let's Build the World: Black Design as Collaborative Practice Flaxman Library exhibition, the curator, Schetauna Powell, will guide participants in using design to visualize policy, data, and narratives in order to depict the world we would like to see.
Each participant can choose which session to attend where they will create a 6x6” paper quilt square to be displayed in conjunction with the exhibition on the 6th floor of the Sharp Building until March 18, 2023.
