Associate Professor Anne Harris will moderate a conversation between the painters Janice Nowinski and Kyle Staver. They will discuss Staver's and Nowinski's work, their decades of friendship and their history of loving and debating painting, this includes each other's work as well as their shared travels to museums ranging from the Barnes Foundation to the Prado to the Louvre.
Janice Nowinski's Bio:
Janice Nowinski was born in Brooklyn and grew up in Rockaway Park. She received her MFA in Painting from Yale University. She has exhibited at American Academy of Arts and Letters, National Academy Museum, American University Museum, John Davis Gallery, Zurcher Gallery, Leigh Morse Fine Arts, Steven Harvey Fine Arts Projects, Kent Fine Arts, Lohin Geduld and Schweitzer Contemporary. Currently she has a one person exhibition at John Davis Gallery in Hudson, NY. She is the recipient of a purchase prize from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. Her work has been featured and reviewed in the Hudson Review, the New Criterion, Hyperallergic, Huffington Post and American Artist. Nowinski lives and paints in Brooklyn, NY.
Kyle Staver's Bio:
Originally from Northern Minnesota, Kyle Staver, NA settled in New York following graduate studies at Yale University. She has been the recent recipient of a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowship and the American Academy of Arts and Letters Purchase Prize. Staver was also recognized as a distinguished member of the National Academy of New York. She is currently represented by Zurcher Gallery, NYC.
