Joan Flasch Artists' Book Collection

The Joan Flasch Artists’ Book Collection honors Black History/Futures Month by celebrating the importance of Black scholars in our collection. This deep dive into the collection will feature works made by Black faculty and alum from SAIC. We aim to cultivate a book arts centered space where students and faculty can meet to discuss the wealth of beauty, joy, genius, triumph, resilience, and criticality that lives in our collection of books, sculptures, and recorded sounds.
On Friday, February 24th between 1 and 4pm Special Collections Assistants chris reeder (VCS MA 2023) and Talia Wright (Writing MFA 2024) invite Black students and faculty to build community through kiki, conversation, and shared engagement.
