Bio:

Ricardo Partida is a painter and a current MFA candidate at the School of The Art Institute of Chicago in the Painting and Drawing Department. Using methodologies of painting, his work explores carnal desires through the use of materiality and surface treatments. Often dealing with the push and pull of menacing and allure, his work aims to depict surrogates of seduction in an unapologetic light.

Born in Mexico City, Mexico and raised in the border lands of South Texas, Partida's work has been exhibited nationally including Texas, California, Chicago, and New York, and is a current member of the Chicago "Hornys Only" visual collective.

Quote:

"Growing up queer and brown in a Texas border town, i always felt the need to create work that included unconventional male bodies as a fundamental part of its value system."
