Azadeh Hussaini presents a one-day performance installation honoring those imprisoned in Iran for the women-life-freedom movement. Inspired by imprisoned political activist Leila Hosseinzadeh who knits red scarves in an Iranian prison to spread message of hope, this installation invites participants to contribute by writing the names of those imprisoned and use red thread to weave them into an entangled and indecipherable sculpture of remembrance. Remembrance acts as a metaphor for the prisons that hold captive the bodies of over 18,000 people engaged in civil protests in the name of basic human rights and freedoms.
