Out of the Blue: a Lecture by Visiting Artist Katherine Sherwood
Katherine Sherwood is a leading Bay Area artist whose bold, painterly, figurative mixed media work is an embodiment of her ideals as a feminist, her identity as a person with a disability, and her journey as a healer. She will talk about her arc as a painter, starting with her life as a punk artist in New York during the eighties, to her post-stroke work in the early 2000’s, through her most recent paintings, including the Brain Flower and Venuses of the Yelling Clinic series.
