6th Floor Exhibition Cases

Zines have been used to spread the good word since the early 20th century. Following in the tradition of the pamphlets before them, they have been a quick and cost-efficient way to inform people about political issues, sub-cultures of the time, and to simply get one’s work in the hands of as many people as possible. This exhibit highlights zines made by librarians who share a timeline of knowledge creation in the context of their lives, their work, and their development as memory workers.
Curated by Siobhan McKissic (Materials Librarian, UIUC) and April Sheridan (Special Collections Manager, SAIC)
