280 S. Columbus Dr., Room 319

Bio:
Growing up in the Midwest Mullen divided her time between the city and a family farm in Northern Wisconsin. The juxtapositions found between these two landscapes continues to inform her current studio which is a laboratory employing a diverse range of available materials with working parts and improvised repairs. Recent paintings and objects utilize the processes of constructing, deconstructing and reconstructing contemporary frescoes in an attempt to reach outside the range of the familiar to harness our collective history and to explore future possibilities. Mullen received her BFA from SAIC in 2001 and has exhibited her work both nationally and internationally.
