October 31, 2019, 10am - 7pm

SAIC Free Radio Dance Party:  12pm - 1pm, 613 Sharp
As part of bibliodérive, Free Radio is occupying the library’s classroom for a one hour lunchtime dance party featuring student Djs. Costumes optional.

16mm Film Festival:  1pm - 4pm, 613 Sharp
View a selection of 16mm experimental films housed in the Flaxman Library curated by Sid Branca Cook’s Media Practices: The Moving Image class.

Microbookmarking:  drop in anytime, 6th floor Sharp
Select a book and make window cut-outs on paper that would serve as a bookmark. Microbookmarking is a term that Megan Nugroho made for this action that allows for a unique revealing of words from the pages of a book. “Is this highlighting a certain part or is it censoring the rest?“

Pick a Card: Bibliodérive Deck: drop in anytime, 6th floor Sharp
Choose a card from the Bibliodérive Deck and use the prompt to engage with the library’s collections, exploring non-traditional research and the physicality of the library itself. Check out what you can do here.

This interactive, participatory, all day event is open to all SAIC students, faculty and staff. Whether individually or in an organized group, participants are invited to engage with the library’s collections, architecture and community. John M. Flaxman Library is the bibliodérive’s central location.  Participants are encouraged to expand throughout the campus. Please visit our official Bibliodérive website here!
