Empower yourself and underrepresented artists on Wikipedia! Learn to edit and help us close the Wikipedia information gap about gender, feminism, and the arts at our Art+Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon. Whether you’ve edited before or not, all are welcome to join this free, drop-in-style event to learn how we can work together to uplift artists on Wikipedia.
Registration is required, and participants are encouraged to create a Wikipedia account prior to the event. Folks can pop in and out anytime, and don’t need to come prepared with articles to work on. Anyone can choose articles that need editing using a list of SAIC affiliated and Chicago-based artists from our event last spring or Black Lunch Table’s women identifying visual artists list if they don’t have artists in mind already. Questions about this event can be directed to flaxman@saic.edu.
Grab a Button Before the Event!
If you are on campus Thursday, March 18, stop by the LeRoy Neiman Center, second floor between 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. to grab an Art+Feminism button and ask any questions you may have about the Edit-a-thon later that day!
