Institute for Curatorial Research & Practice

As a center for the study of processes undertaken by curators, the Institute for Curatorial Research and Practice at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago aspires to foster advanced thinking in the field, serving as an incubator for creative inquiry and future exhibitions. The Institute serves as a laboratory for the development of research and curatorially engaged artistic practices. In this capacity, it offers a forum in which to pose critical questions about how curators and artists develop their work in partnership with others and in relation to audiences.

The Institute for Curatorial Research and Practice works in partnership with the Office of Engagement and the Department of Exhibitions and Exhibitions Studies.
