Rian Allen is an interdisciplinary artist living and working in Chicago, IL. She was born in Dallas, TX and attended Texas State University, receiving a BFA in Photography in 2016. Through material and conceptual exploration she addresses topics involving gender, representation, and the body. Currently she is focused on the medical communities relationship to the standardization of sex, and the social and cultural factors that influence those decisions. Her work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally, including the Museum of Human Achievement, Blue Star Contemporary, Tom Robinson Gallery, and UP Collective. Since 2014, she has been an art handler and has professionally documented exhibitions for galleries and museums.
