The Marlborough Theatre in Brighton is the only theatre in the United Kingdom with a year round priority of supporting diverse artists to create queer work with an intersectional focus. A micro performance venue located above one of the city’s most buzzing LGBTQ+ community hubs, The Marlborough strives to make a safe space where audiences can experience radical work in an empowering setting. Since 2010, the Marlborough collective comprising Abby Butcher, Tarik Elmoutawakil, and David Sheppeard, have produced a vast range of projects located in contexts varying from concert halls to disused shops working with internationally iconic artists, like Kate Bornstein and Cassils, to the freshest new UK queer talent.
