Bio

Vanessa Balbach Clarke paints abstracted landscapes using a variety of techniques and mixed media on large, unprimed canvases. With a background in design, she continues to examine the limits of landscape incorporating feminine power dynamics into the figurative/landscape relationship. Her most recent works explore front to back/back to front painting. She holds a B.A. from Denison University, a Post Baccalaureate degree from SAIC and will complete her MFA at SAIC in Spring 2019.
