Bio
Nathan Everett Engel is an interdisciplinary artist working towards his MFA in the Painting and Drawing Department at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His practice is primarily centered on the intersection of painting’s expanded field with the widespread implementation of machine learning technologies. Recent projects include Action Valley, a suite of ten digital paintings displayed exclusively as light projections in didactic spaces, and The View from the Whale’s Mouth, a 400-page artist’s book composed entirely of screenshots culled from the web.
