As if heroin was never a flower, the transmutation of form can be a mind-altering concoction without a return to what existed before. Born and raised in Mid-Wilshire, Los Angeles, Ed Oh is an artist seeking terminal forms in drawings, paintings, prints, and castes. An artist who hangs out at airports without departing nor arriving to and fro any particular destination, Ed sees drawing as a gateway to infinitive thought, drawing as thinking. Found objects of obsessive interest, self-induced patterns of behavior, and radical archiving ground the imagination of the artist’s visual work to a “real world” specificity that is both familiar and mysterious.
