Bio

Benjamin Cabral is a multidisciplinary artist from San Diego, California. Over the past five years Ben has shown work in galleries across the country with two solo shows and numerous group exhibitions. In 2016 Ben was commissioned by the City of San Diego's Arts District to design a public sculpture. His work was most recently shown in a collaborative two-person exhibition at Sugar Space gallery in Indianapolis, Indiana. Currently Ben is pursuing an MFA at The School of The Art Institute of Chicago in the department of Painting and Drawing. His immediate goal isn't to create works that are considered "tasteful," rather he wants to create a dialogue within the explosive new rhetoric of the banal.

Notable alumni and faculty include Georgia O’Keeffe, Nick Cave, David Sedaris, LaToya Ruby Frazier, Cynthia Rowley, Michelle Grabner, Richard Hunt, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, and Jeff Koons.
