Moyra Davey

Born in Toronto, Moyra Davey is a photographer and filmmaker based in New York. Davey has produced eight narrative videos including Hemlock ForestNotes On BlueMy SaintsLes Goddesses, and Fifty Minutes. She is the author of Burn the DiariesI'm Your FanLong Life Cool WhiteThe Problem of Reading, and is the editor of Mother Reader: Essential Writings on Motherhood. Davey has been the subject of major survey exhibitions at Bergen Kunsthall, Norway; Camden Arts Centre, London; Kunsthalle Basel; and Fogg Art Museum at Harvard University, Cambridge. She has had solo exhibitions at Museum Moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig Wien, Vienna; the Institute of Contemporary Art, Philadelphia; Tate Liverpool; Presentation House Gallery, Vancouver, and many others. Her work was shown in the 2012 Whitney Biennial and the 2012 Sao Pãolo Biennial and is featured in documenta 14. She was awarded the Anonymous Was a Woman Award in 2014.
