ARTBASH is the Department of Contemporary Practices’ major year-end exhibition of student work. Work is installed in the Neiman Center SUG's Art Gallery, as well as the entire first floor of the Center, and extending throughout the first 3 floors of the building.  The main ARTBASH exhibition is comprised of juried works, faculty selections, and site-specific installations by students in Contemporary Practices including the First-Year Scholars Program. During the Opening Reception, Contemporary Practices will also present Inter-Action—a showcase of live performance and ephemeral works, Black Box featuring linear time based Video work and Expanded Cinema featuring GIFs, 3-D mapping, web based games, sound works and video designed for looping.

In addition to Artbash is a Video Competition titled 48.24.12.  Students work in teams over one weekend, 48 hours, to create a 12 minute video at 24 frames a second.  Each film is then screened at Gene Siskel Theatre on Saturday, April 6th from 12:00-2:00 pm.  A live jury will announce the winners of the competition at the end of the screening.
