Sol Sender (MFA 1999) designed President Obama’s iconic logo.
Sol Sender (MFA 1999) led the development of the identity for Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign and designed its iconic logo. The idea was to have a mark that would be effective without the candidate’s name being next to it. According to Sender, he and his team did not find any inspiration from looking at political graphics from the past. Instead, they approached the design from a corporate and commercial standpoint, an innovative style for the political arena.
