In 1969 SAIC dropped majors, replaced grades with a credit/no-credit system, emphasized critiques, and enabled students to determine their own pathways across disciplines, media, and departments. SAIC faculty discuss the importance of an interdisciplinary curriculum, and why it is necessary to educate emerging artists in an environment that transcends conventional genres and exceeds boundaries.
