SAIC is committed to exploring the ways in which culture has produced ideas and images and to discuss how artists and scholars can use their platform to change those hegemonic constructions. On October 8 and 9, The Diversity Advisory Group Symposium "Reframing Visibility" brought students, faculty, and staff together in conversation around issues of identity and representation in the contemporary art world at large and in our own community at SAIC. The event featured keynote speaker Henry Louis Gates, Jr. and closing speaker Mariam Ghani and included workshops, panels, and celebrations of our community.
