In celebration of its 150th Anniversary, SAIC brings together a panel of distinguished alumni artists: Caitlin Cherry (BFA 2010), Jeanne Dunning (MFA 1985), Aspen Mays (MFA 2009), Kori Newkirk (BFA 1993), Carrie Schneider (MFA 2007), and Chris Ware (SAIC 1991–93). Moderated by SAIC Dean of Faculty Lisa Wainwright with critic and professor James Yood, artists will reflect on the development of their practices and experiences in Chicago’s art scene. Participating artists are also featured in SAIC’s Anniversary exhibition on view through October 24 at the Sullivan Galleries, Civilization and Its Discontents: SAIC Alumni Exhibition, selections from 1985–2015, curated by Scott Reeder and Tyson Reeder.
