I propose that Dusable Park enter two Phases of development, both leading towards a community based park.

Phase I: Virtual Garden/ Landscape Regneration:
This phase would consist of soil regeneration and environmental clean-up. During this time, video cameras would be set up on site with the data being sent to the internet 24 hours a day. This way the community could watch the park grow virtually. We would be the voyeurs, much like the current situation, but with an end in site.

Phase II: Land & Community Rejoined/ Virtual Become Real:
This phase would focus on creating a park that was part of the natural landscape- not the groomed grounds we see near the water now. Instead there would be wild grasses and dirt paths. In this park we would also have open picnic benches much like the benches in the beergartens in Germany. Here people could gather for picnics or also planned events. There would be no car access to the park. Cycling or walking to it would be the options for access. At night there would be lanterns and an open community environment, providing an place in the evening for the people of Chicago.
