General Access (GA) Computer Lab

The General Access (GA) Computer Lab acts as the general computing facility for the SAIC community. Users have access to 24" Apple iMacand Mac Pro desktop workstations equipped with the SAIC instructional software template, which includes the latest versions of digital video, desktop publishing, 3D rendering, website authoring, animation, multimedia, graphic, and audio applications. The GA Lab is also equipped with flatbed, negative, and slide scanners, CD/DVD burners, and digital video editing stations. Workstations provide connectivity via SAIC's high-speed network and have available USB, FireWire, microphone, and headphone ports. There are also dedicated stations where laptop users can connect to scanners, widescreen LCD monitors, and the SAIC network. Users may print to Canon black-and-white and color laser printers as well as Epson 2400 photographic inkjet printers.

The GA Lab offers 24-hour access,authorizations for specialized equipment, assistance with computing workflow issues, and a wide range of how-to and training guides.

Monitored Hours
Monday-Thursday 10:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Friday-Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

The GA Lab has open access during un-monitored hours. If the lab is locked, swipe your ID card to gain access. Overnight Access is available to all currently enrolled students.

Authorizations


Authorizations are available weekly to all school students and faculty. GA Lab authorizations include:

LATE FINES are tabulated by the checkout computer and are prorated according to the daily fine amount. All fines are enforced. If you receive a fine, you must get a print-out of the fine, go the Bursar's Office to pay the fine, and return the PAID receipt to the General Access Lab.
