Out of State Cooperative Education InternshipsThe Cooperative Education Internship Program can help plan an internship outside ChicagoMany students choose to take advantage of out-of-state internships over the summer semester. During a summer semester, students can register for Co-op exclusively, and can earn three or six credits depending on the employer’s and student’s needs. Leaving TownAn internship experience outside Chicago takes some planning and we cannot guarantee a placement will occur. Depending on where you want to go, and if you have a particular employer in mind, we recommend exploring your options several months prior to the summer. Do some background research on employers that interest you. You can start with searching the Internet or asking recommendations from your professors or industry professionals in your field. Meet with a Co-op staff member and bring a list of employers from your target city in order of priority. Please be aware that many out-of-state internships are available for credit only, and students are financially responsible for all expenses incurred, including lodging and transportation. Interested students should attend an orientation session. Pay careful attention to The School’s academic calendar when making your off-campus Co-op plans. Requirements
