Symposium: Shadowplay

Exploring the Shadows in Art Therapy

March 10, 2007
Columbus Building, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago
(280 S. Columbus Drive, Il, 60603)

This symposium explores the interaction and motivation behind why we become art therapists, examining personal biases and cultural assumptions, and seeking to learn both from our strengths as well as our weaknesses.
When do good intentions become a disturbance?
When does an intervention become an interference?
By exploring these themes, we hope to understand what role our shadows play in both our professional and personal lives.
