Carla:
I see myself as the role of the artist as humanitarian. One, who listens, gives voice to the mute, while crossing physical, intellectual, and emotional boundaries. As well, bridging the gap between the “formed structures” within different societies. Artist as translator. Relations. Mediator. Emotional.
Erin:
Enjoyment, exploration of alternative ways of living, examples of how others define themselves as artists, building a relationship and creating memories, distortion, unconscious, transformation
Jung A:
About 20 years ago, I was involved in a direct activity process against military government dictatorship. Many people and I not only made protest acts but also found many other ways to engage such as we built a nighttime school. So many young people, age 13-18, couldn’t afford to go to the school because of no money and no time. Many of them had to work for their families. I wasn’t an artist at that time. But I used my talents (I could draw and paint and make better than any other member). I used my talents for many ways to do together with them at the school or protests. But when I became an art student, I lost direct engagement with society. I have been struggling to find my way to go back. I envision myself to find my social concerns and cares not just critiquing but also acting out.
Storyteller.

I’m a photographer. So I can do documentary photography to give information to society. Express the soul. Document.
Kirsten:
Process oriented, empathetic connections, embodying creativity, transforming spaces, being present, living and working are one, learning constantly, creating opportunities for expression, seeking to learn and understand, lasting relationships, looking and seeing in new ways.
Neil:
Currently on a more traditional track, one where the artist’s personal, isolated practice is valued for its ability to create/provide models with applications for a larger context, different professions/society. Outside of school I see myself connected with this practice, using a system currently in place. There is a faith in a current system and being critical of said system better models can be made and the potential for a group practice replacing a singular practice.
Ryan:
Muralist, teacher, giving back to society, improving public spaces, Shining light into darkness, reflecting self, reflecting society, reflecting environment, reflecting the creator, incorporating technology, reflecting time in history, reflecting something timeless, energy, emotion, movement, change, images, shape, color
Sebastian:
I see myself as several collectives working to create, translate and channel energy, relations, intellect and movement. Always acknowledging our qualities as humans and the qualities of where we stand, the earth.
Taikkun:
Try to bring some ecological ideas to impact the public attention about reducing pollution providing more sustainable house for people. Project. Social context.
Xavier:
I envision myself within the family always wanted. This family is dynamic. This family cares for each other, and wants to grow. I am longing for a community that challenges established ways of life. What is established is not exactly negative, but all things established need to be challenged in order to grow.
The family will enlighten me, as I them. This family will offer protection/strength. I hope this family will influence our “established community” in the way we influence each other. My desire to influence this establishment is due to their concept of finish. Nothing is finished and we can always learn from each other.
Yang:
I throw myself into the mechanics that we know as society to open it… I break people out of prisons they create.
Emily:
Issues of war, religion and metaphors of power inform, either directly, or indirectly, much of my artwork.
As a veteran of wars of the Middle East, an electronics engineer, sexual minority and now as an artist, it is my desire to highlight, through art, the intertwining relationship between military and religious values, practices and pedagogy and their dual effects on societies.
I am concerned with analysis of power, how it is structured in the world at large and it's transformation into force against the fragile containers that are our bodies. I hope to bring to public consciousness, through collaboration related issues.
