Animation is the presentation of a sequence of still images that create the illusion of movement. Artists have explored animation for hundreds of years from early motion-based cave drawings to contemporary 3D films.  In the 19th century, artists like Edward Muybridge used the camera to create a stop-motion gallery of a horse’s locomotion. Today, both new and old technologies are employed at the school to enable students to study the craft of both 2D and 3D animation.
