Corporate Partners Program
Inspire Visionary Ideas
The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC)’s Corporate Partners Program is an opportunity for the business community to engage with a world-class art and design school to advance culture and innovative thinking.
Founded in 1866, SAIC is a leader in art and design education, and offers nationally accredited undergraduate and graduate degrees to nearly 3,600 students from 55 countries. The School’s interdisciplinary approach empowers students and faculty to work across boundaries to solve problems with creative solutions—from product design to market research, from issues of sustainability to education and community outreach. As a corporate partner, you will ensure the future of the next generation of leading artists and designers.
"These scholarships have been granted and have benefited students across the entire city of Chicago. Having this fund available to them has resulted in an 80 percent increase in applications from CPS students over the course of the last three years. We love our Chicago students!"
"Becoming a Massey Scholar at SAIC has opened so many doors for me and has already helped me get freelance work, which will launch my career as a graphic designer after graduation."
"I applied [to SAIC] right out of high school, but couldn’t come because I didn’t receive enough scholarship support. I went to Harold Washington College for a year and reapplied to SAIC…the Bank of America Scholarship… was the last piece of the puzzle and it has impacted my entire college experience."
"I feel that I have a responsibility to this city. Receiving the Massey Scholarship has enabled me to do interdisciplinary work, see my fellow students at events across the city, and develop the connections to give back to Chicago after graduation."
Invest in Future Creative Leaders
SAIC is committed to helping young people realize their full potential by creating pathways to college education. Scholarships like the Walter and Shirley Massey Chicago Fund provide students with the resources to achieve their goals. The Massey Scholarship is awarded to Chicago public high school graduates in SAIC’s undergraduate program. The Massey Fund has already received enthusiastic support from many of our corporate partners.
Provide Arts Access for Chicago Students
Because Chicago is our home, we strive to ensure that local students have access to all that SAIC has to offer through programs like the College Arts Access Program (CAAP).
CAAP provides access to an advanced arts education for Chicago public high school students, including many first-generation college attendees. Corporate support of the CAAP program makes higher education a reality for many talented Chicago students each year.
Make a Difference
Corporate creativity drives advances in technology and business in countless ways. SAIC relies on that corporate creativity to ensure that students gain valuable real-world experience. By acting as mentors, engaging with our students as guest speakers, or participating in hands-on projects, our corporate partners become influential role models who increase students’ awareness of various career paths.
Transform the Lives of Students and Communities
SAIC has a long tradition of working in communities throughout Chicago, providing arts opportunities that transform community life. A new program developed by SAIC’s Office of Engagement is the Homan Square Arts Initiative (HSAI), SAIC’s arts outreach program in North Lawndale. HSAI provides a variety of opportunities for you to volunteer in the community and have a positive and lasting impact on the lives of Chicago youth. Volunteer opportunities with HSAI will begin in spring 2017.
Corporate partners also make contributions to SAIC through the Shapiro Center for Research and Collaboration, which supports faculty projects and sponsored classes. Through these opportunities, our students gain real-world experience working with professionals from a variety of fields.
