Twenty student artists will be selected to create murals on the 2nd floor windows of Hostelling International Chicago, 24 E Congress Pkwy, honoring the life and work of Dr. King and the continuing struggle for social justice today.

A panel of judges will evaluate the artwork and 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes will be awarded to the students whose works best represent the spirit of the exhibit.

Students must submit a portfolio of up to 10 images of recent work along with the submission form in person or by mail by November 1. Portfolios may be submitted in person at the hostel or electronically to:

Artists selected to create paintings for the windows will be notified by November 8, 2013. The final paintings will be on display on Martin Luther King Day through the end of February. All artists who are invited to participate will receive recognition at the artists' reception held on Tuesday, January 21, 2014
