This series of film screenings and discussions explores the portrayal of utopias in narrative cinema. From Forbidden Planet to Metropolis and Cloud Atlas, the program will consider the relationship between emergent technologies and human creativity, seeking to stimulate inquiry into the role of art and the artist in utopian dreaming. Curated by SAIC faculty Pamela Barrie, Department of Liberal Arts, and Soojin Lee, Department of Art History, Theory, and Criticism. Presented with the support of the Department of Liberal Arts.
