atom-r (Anatomical Theatres of Mixed Reality): The Breaking Wheel is a durational live installation that engages histories of forensics and anatomical science, placing the crudeness of early surgery in relation to the 21st century vision of a body enhanced by data and augmented by computation. The site-specific solstice performance for the exhibition Opening the Black Box, now on view in the Sullivan Galleries, marks the closing of the show and the turning of the year with a ceremonial homage to the broken body.
