Mev Luna (b. 1988 Houston, Texas) is an MFA Candidate in Performance at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and holds a BFA from California College of the Arts (2011) with a concentration in Textiles and Media Arts. Luna addresses the weight of bearing a shape-shift body, exploring intersectionality through textile, experimental video and performance. Charged by politics of dematerialization within the contemporary technological landscape, Luna elevates the body as central ground for ancestral remembering. Luna's works have exhibited at The Margulies Collection Warehouse, the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, Oliver Arts Center and screened at Artists' Television Access, MIX NYC and as part of Open Your Golden Gates: Shorts from the Bay in Berlin, Hamburg, and Montréal, Québec.
