My process is driven by the notion of advancing forward through action while retaining select remnants of the past. Sometimes this concept is evident in the history of the object(s) repurposed in my sculptures or hybrids, or in the history of marks exposed or concealed on a canvas. I am driven to depict subtle architectural elements referencing the "corner." This corner, or simplified lines of linear perspective, references the history of painting and the line between abstraction and illusionistic space. These "corners" serve as the framework for the actions of accessing those seemingly inaccessible, psychological and emotional spaces.
