During my years at SAIC, I have found teaching to be an exciting challenge and a joy that has evolved to become an integral part of my intellectual and creative life. I originally found my way to design through painting and illustration, having grown up in a family of artists and designers in the former Soviet Union—an environment in which boundaries between artistic disciplines were blurred. I have carried this philosophy into my professional career which is currently focused on running The Narrative, an interdisciplinary design studio with my partner. At The Narrative I design for a diverse client base while simultaneously developing personal and collaborative projects. My open and flexible approach to design aligns closely with SAIC's interdisciplinary culture and allows me to provide students with a rich and varied perspective and skill set to successfully position themselves within the local and international design community.
