Julia Zay's work folds space into paper and paper into space, and casts impossible objects and buildings to be held in the palm of your hand, using digital, alternative and historical photographic processes, printmaking, and sculpture. Her writing on screen tests, duration and attention in documentary film, and experimental film and the archive has appeared in the Journal of Visual Culture and The Moving Image, and her films have screened nationally and internationally. She lives and works in Olympia, Washington.
