Experience at SAIC

SAIC is an incredibly exciting place to begin a lifelong commitment to learning and art. It has been my pleasure to see students open up to not only what art can be, but to see them surprised by the work that they make here.

Personal Statement

My art practice is inspired by a long relationship with comedy and parody.  With a side practice as a regularly performing comedian, I have experienced the power that humor has to help us recognize ourselves, critique our flaws and to lift us up.  As a community of learners here at SAIC, we strive to look at the world through similar critical lenses. We tease out what calls to be further examined, and deliver our findings through whatever stage we care to build.

Current Interests

Joke stores, joke books, pranks, improvisation, materials, repetition, hand manufacturing, seriality, surprise, drawing, "Concrete Comedy" by David Robbins, Karl Valentin, Raymond Pettibon....
