Personal Statement

Chelsea Knight was born in Vermont and now lives and works in New York. Her work in video, photography, and performance looks at the inadequacy of language and the reproduction of ideologies of authority and identity. In conflating real with potential, political with cognitive, her work and characters search for ways to formulate social knowledge.
