Personal Statement

Aron Gent is an artist, photography printer and art organizer residing in Chicago, IL. He received a BFA in photography from Columbia College Chicago. Gent is a co-founder of MDW Fair and owner/director of DOCUMENT, a printing/exhibition space located in Chicago's west loop. Gent's work is in the collection of the Milwaukee Art Museum and has been exhibited at the Hyde Park Art Center, Houston Center for Photography, Chicago Cultural Center and Devening Projects + Editions. He currently teaches photography at the School of the Art Institute and Columbia College Chicago.

Current Interests

At DOCUMENT we facilitate artist projects and assist in the production of works for their exhibitions. DOCUMENT's exhibition space features curated shows of contemporary photography and video works. Past exhibitions have included solo shows by Andrew Norm Wilson, Christopher Meerdo, Elizabeth Atterbury, Eric Fleischauer, and Alan Cohen to name a few.

DOCUMENT's service side specializes in the production of large-scale photography by contemporary artists for museum and gallery exhibitions. At DOCUMENT we work directly with artists and organizations on the process of scanning, editing, color correction, proofing, printing and delivery. Some of our service clients include Laura Letinsky, Dawoud Bey, Terry Evans, David Hartt and Barbara Kasten. We have produced prints for exhibitions at the Renaissance Society, The Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Yancey Richardson Gallery and Corbett vs Dempsey.
