Alex Shelly, AIA, NCARB, is a Principal and the Director of Architecture at DAAM Projects, a Chicago-based architecture and design practice that leverages collective skills in Design, Architecture, Art, and Making to provide a wide range of services and spatial products. He has comprehensive experience in design, planning, and construction management, and has worked on projects in Illinois, New York, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Australia and Germany. He has also managed and operated a digital fabrication lab focused on the production of prototypes for advanced and experimental construction techniques. His work to date has negotiated the translation of progressive architectural concepts into built reality. Alex is a licensed architect in the state of New York.
Prior to co-founding DAAM Projects, Alex was a Senior Associate at Kennedy & Violich Architecture in Boston. He has been an invited design critic at Harvard University, MIT, IIT, SAIC, Boston Architectural College, Wentworth, and Northeastern University. Alex holds a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture with Highest Honors from Lehigh University and a Master of Architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
