Ellen Hartwell Alderman (b. 1981) is a Chicago-based curator and creative programmer. She received a Master of Arts (MA) in Visual and Critical Studies from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2009 and a Bachelor of Arts in the History of Art and Comparative Literature and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Metalwork and Jewelry Design from the University of Michigan in 2003. She currently holds the position of Program Coordinator at the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts in Chicago. In 2011, she founded Alderman Exhibitions, an independent exhibition space focused on providing a forum for discussion and experimentation across disciplines.
