Chicago, IL—Dr. Walter E. Massey, President of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), delivered the closing keynote address Monday, May 1 at the CIC Global University Summit held at the University Club of Chicago's Cathedral Hall, located adjacent to the SAIC campus in the heart of downtown Chicago. Massey, a prominent physicist who has served as Director of the Argonne National Laboratory and the National Science Foundation alongside his lengthy career in higher education, called his address "The Art of Innovation."

Chicago, IL—Cary McMillan, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), announced today the Board of Trustees of the Art Institute of Chicago voted unanimously on April 11 to extend through the end of the 2015–16 academic year the appointment of Walter E. Massey, Ph.D. as SAIC President. The news comes as SAIC celebrates several milestones enhancing its position of international leadership and strength among independent colleges of art and design.

Chicago, IL—New rankings compiled by U.S. News and World Report released March 13 confirm that the fine arts graduate program at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) continues to build upon its unparalleled history as one of the most influential programs in North America and internationally. SAIC rose to the nation's second-ranked program in the Fine Arts category of the 2013 Best Graduate Schools list, just one-tenth of one ranking point below the top position.

Chicago, IL—Product designer and conceptual artist Jerszy Seymour, founder of the Berlin-based Jerszy Seymour Design Workshop and recipient of the 2000 Dedalus Award for European Design, will deliver a lecture at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) on Thursday, March 15, 2012, at 6 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, and will be presented at the SAIC Columbus Auditorium, 280 South Columbus Drive. Seating is limited and available on a first come, first served basis. Doors open at 5:45 p.m.
