Mike Freiheit is a cartoonist, illustrator and teaching artist living in Chicago with his wife and their two cats. He has self published many comics, and in 2018 his graphic novel Monkey Chef: A Love Story, was released by Kilgore Books. His second book, WOODS, is due to be released in 2019.
Freiheit helps organize The Chicago Alternative Comics Expo (CAKE), creates comics and illustrations for various clients, such as BuzzFeed, Washington Post, Current Affairs and The Globe and Mail. His last name is pronounced FRY-HITE.
