Nick Cave, Stephanie and Bill Sick Professor of Fashion, Body and Garment, and Jeanne Gang (HON 2013), founder and principal of architectural firm Studio Gang, have teamed up for the first time ever. In a recent interview in Chicago magazine, the two spoke about their creative process, being fans of one another, and working together to prepare this first-ever collaboration. The project will open both EXPO CHICAGO and the Chicago Architecture Biennial on Saturday, September 17 at Navy Pier's Polk Bros. Park. Cave's performance titled HEARD will interact with the Stage Buoys made by Gang. "There’s a temporal quality to what Nick does, while architecture can be very static. But buildings get made alive through these experiences that people have within them. A city like Chicago gets turned on by performances like this one," says Gang. Read the full interview here.
