Vogue Features Alumna Libby Lane’s Handbags

The October issue of Vogue magazine features handbags designed by SAIC alumna Libby Lane (BFA 2009). The Amarillo Globe-News states Lane earned a place on Vogue’s “Go Local” page after a stylist from the magazine spotted Lane’s friends carrying her bags in New York City. As designer, Lane says her main objective “was to make a bag that would be versatile throughout the day and into the evening, that would look very chic and clean and would be easy to go from place to place.” Lane credits her education at SAIC for prompting her interest in fashion. “The first time I knew I had to go there was when I saw their fashion resource center, and I was blown away,” the designer says of SAIC. “They have every fashion book, every history book.... It’s just a huge library, and I had to be part of it.”
