Sullivan Galleries Exhibitions Receive Coverage Ahead of Opening Receptions

Time Out Chicago guest editor Franck Mercurio reviews the Sullivan Galleries’ Roger Brown: This Boy’s Own Story in the magazine’s September 13 edition. Mercurio writes in his complimentary three-star review, “Brown is all over the city’s art scene this fall.... But the Sullivan Galleries bring new scholarship and insight to Brown’s oeuvre.” He also quotes curator Kate Pollasch (Dual MA 2013) regarding the show’s exploration of a “significant, yet under-explored current in the artist’s career.” Alongside the lengthy review the Sullivan Galleries earned additional exposure in Mercurio’s companion review for The Great Refusal: Taking on New Queer Aesthetics, which was also featured on the Visualist ahead of its Friday reception.
