SAIC Student Awarded Fulbright Fellowship

Heather MacKenzie, an MFA candidate in SAIC’s Department of Fiber and Material Studies, recently received a fellowship from the Fulbright U.S. Student Program. MacKenzie will travel to France this fall to work at the International Bureau of Weights and Measures and the School of Decorative Arts. “As an artist with a foundation in weaving strongly influenced by math, I find these two institutions to offer the perfect intersection to develop my practice both formally and conceptually,” says MacKenzie. The Fulbright U.S. Student Program provides grants for individually designed study/research projects to take place during one academic year in a participating country outside the United States.
