SAIC Partners with Palmer House Hilton for New Rooftop Garden
September 21, 2012—SAIC partnered with the historic Palmer House Hilton on its new rooftop garden, the latest improvement to the building that was Chicago’s first fireproof answer to the great fire of 1871. A photograph by Alexis Buryk (MFAW 2012) that brilliantly captures the chandelier in the hotel’s Empire Room has become a captivating mural in the outdoor space. The photo, printed and transferred to a vinyl material, “seeks to echo the historical significance of the Palmer House legacy while being physically embedded in the latest example of the hotel’s ever present commitment to a bright future.”
